Very nice to hear about HF activation.
If you plan just user port I am suggest to use 14.099.1 USB dial @2100/2300 Hz
modem tones. Its de-facto common HF packet/aprs freq in EU.
BTW look for very good soundcard packet TNC, it should run better than most
hardware TNCs: http://uz7ho.org.ua/packetradio.htm
