We have not turned on our UHF transmitter on CanX-2. If it were to be used, it
would only be active over our ground station in Toronto, Canada (FN03gs).
CanX-2 and CanX-6 are responding commands and both spacecraft are healthy. We
are in the process of commissioning and it is progressing well on both
spacecraft.
We are tracking CanX-2 with NORAD ID 32787 and CanX-6 with 32784. We are
fairly
confident in these targets because both satellites have SRS S-Band downlinks
and
we have good resolution with our 2.1m dish. I believe Celestrak has assigned
those names to these objects, although it's really the NORAD names that are
official.
These are our current observations that Freddy Pranajaya has compiled from
various reports and posted on the NLS-4 web page:
http://www.utias-sfl.net/NLS-4
CURRENT OBSERVATIONS
----------------------------------------
Object A - 32783 - Cartosat-2A
Object B - 32784 - CanX-6 (NTS)
We have just completed a pass, NTS is now in Application Mode.
S-band tracking seems to be very accurate on this object.
Object C - 327585 - Cute-1.7+APDII
This is based on latest observations from this morning (EDT).
K. Arita -- We tracked Object-C in the today's 3rd pass and the
result was very fine. Auto doppler correction works perfect and
the condition of communication was good. Now, I believe that
Object-C is Cute."
Object D - 32786 - IMS-1
An inquiry has been sent to the IMS-1 team in India, to see
whether this TLE corresponds with their operations parameter.
Object E - 32787 - CanX-2
Using this object, we are tracking CanX-2 accurately with our
S-band dish.
Object F - 32788 - (AAUSat-II ?)
Object G - 32789 - (SEEDS ?)
Object H - 32790 - (Delfi-C3 ?)
Object J - 32791 - COMPASS-1
COMPASS1 is currently working with the TLE data for object 32791.
Object K - 32792 - RUBIN-8/PSLV
> Also, I read somewhere that CANX-2 also transmits on 2407.650 MHz. Can
> someone confirm that this is operational too?
An early plan for CanX-2 was to have a downlink on 2407.650 MHz. However,
given
that we would be downloading data from our science experiments on this
channel,
we coordinated frequencies in the Space Research Science S-band.

Just heard ANDE FCAL (NO-62) on 437.385 on the 0606UTC pass over
W. Michigan EN62. Space-Track has re-entry predition of May 2 for
this bird. With the new satellites in order there hasn't been much fanfare
on the list about this.

Hi,
Good pass with continuous transmissions. Using now NORAD# 32790 (Object H) for
tracking DELFI-C3.
This gives much better results on the automatic doppler correction. Its more
stable. Object H is
25 seconds earlier on LOS than the signal of DELFI-C3.

Thank you, Daniel for the information regarding CANX-2.
Since CANX-2 is not turned on except over Toronto, Canada, I will pay more
attention to the other satellites instead. Good luck with the new satellite
and congratulations on the successful launch.

Hi Rob & all,
I can also confirm strong signals here in the UK (South Wales ) IO81EM.
Latest pass at 0956 GMT - I was in a local shop and stepped outside to
listen with my Kenwood THD7 and just using the helical antenna - Good strong
signals even down to an elevation of about 10 degrees.
Caused quite fuss when I explained to people that it was an amateur
satellite -Hi
Sorry no method of recording, wish I had taken my mobile phone!
Regards & may the good work and results continue.

Hello Allen---thank you for the report! I will look into it as soon as
possible, which may be early AM on Saturday May 3rd. It is possible that the
increasing eclipse period is still too much for the current power level of the
transmitter.
I will copy amsat-bb on this reply so others are aware of your observation.
Thank you for the timely report.

Hi Dave and Mike
It seems to me that is not correct only Europe is working for the
salvation of hamsats producing P3-E
Actually we have a new flock of 10 microsatellites built by the
Universities worldwide with the contribution of their governements
and private industries.
Actually the Universities are requesting assistance to all of us hamsats
to collect TLM for their experiments but to do it we hamsats are using
our own equipments in wich we have invested a lot of money.
I wonder if the the above Universities are donating or not some money
as a contribution to AMSAT to get P3-E a reality for us.

Dear All,
I'm Masahiko Yamazaki at Nihon University (JQ1YGV).
Now we are conducting "FM operation", because SEEDS is currently over
charged.
After we have discussed the production of electricity and power consumption,
we decided the operation of Digi-talker Mode.
I'm sorry for the late notice.
We have a plan to conduct "Digi-talker Mode".
>From May 2, 12:45 to 15:45(UTC)
I would like you to recive "SEEDS voice"!!
And, please send your data.
We will have a plan to conduct "Digi-talker Mode" aftertime.
Please check our website!!

SEEDS team turned on Digi-talker and SSTV at 1103z-1115z and 1239z-
1251z 2nd May. Her voice was very clear. I also decoded SSTV picture.
The picture is noisy but nice Japanese scenery is showed up.
I'll put them on my web site if I got permission form SEEDS team.
Congratulations SEEDS team!
