Check this link for a source of a signal generator -
http://www.planetemily.com/n1did/SignalSource.php

If you send an email to the AO-51 email address for mode requests, you
might have a shot at getting a Mode S week or weekend next month. I was
thinking of requesting one now that my station is back up. I want to do
some mobile S band operation.

Hello Pedro,

Thank you for your question.

AO-16 continues to exhibit difficulty in keeping the transmitter turned ON.
The last few days I have turned it ON as my schedule permits, only to see it
turn itself OFF after a short time (sometimes minutes, other times a few
hours). So, it hasn't been turned ON much over the last several days.

It is looking less likely to be a power budget issue, and more likely that
there is something going on with the hardware in the spacecraft; but this is
still speculation. Time will tell.

I wish the news was better!

73,

Hi to all

Does any one knows the status of the AO16?

It was operational as of yesterday. I worked a pass through it. The
transmit power has been reduced but it is still workable.

You can use any oscillator module, such as from an old PC motherboard, that
will put out harmonics up in the 2.4 GHz range. I happened to find a 24.000
MHz one on an old MB. Just now, looking around in the junk drawer, I found
ones for 4.000 and 16.000 MHz as well. Add 5 volts and a short piece of wire
on the output pin, and you're good to go.

George, KA3HSW

CanX-2 never had a 70cm beacon. An earlier design for the satellite include a
2m
CW beacon, but this was descoped from the final design. Its 70cm transmitter
has
not been turned on yet, and the satellite does not send any uncommanded beacon
packets.

CanX-2 satellite is presently operating well though its S-Band downlink, which
we have coordinated a frequency in the Space Research Service Band around
2.2GHz. Due to power limitations only one downlink will be active during a
pass
over our ground station in Toronto, Canada.
