Synch pulses on FM are at about 2450 Hz, and then it is like RTTY around this
frequency. MixW produces garbage though.

Bruce,
Thanks for the AMSAT heads up. I have contacted the ARRL directly and
their response is what prompted my email.

You have interpreted the AMSAT rules correctly. However, we are not in a
position to interpret the ARRL rules. I would suggest contacting someone
at the ARRL for clarification. Even asking another ham could lead to
that ham's interpretation and not the real deal.

Art,
You missed my point about the linear satellites completely. In ARRL
all contacts go into one hopper or band called satellite. If you work the
same station on any two satellites it is a dupe.

As I recall AO-7 and VO-52 are not FM satellites, hence exempt from the rule

Below each item is a "Notelist" button. Similar to "Add to Basket." When
you are done, click on the "Request Offer" on the Startpage, which will take
you to an order form. When you submit this, you will get a quote from them
based on your shipping and other costs.
Alternatively, you can use the Contact page and send a message. A couple of
years ago I had a technical question, and my answer included a quote. I
just replied to the e-mail with the credit card info.
Seems clumsy, but it works.

During its pass today over the California, I did pick up the cw
telemetry but didn't hear any
additional signals. An excerpt of the CW beacon can be found at my
blog:

Recording was done with my FT-817ND and my Arrow antenna, I didn't
track Doppler.

Not even close. From the Shetland Islands, it looks like there's at least
some overlap to 49 states. For example, my predictions show 1.4 minutes
from Lerwick, UK to Redding, CA [Tue 27May08 23:30:20-23:31:45] and 1.2 min.
overlap from Lerwick, UK to Flagstaff, AZ [Wed 28May08 22:39:07-22:40:18].
Even Inverness, Scotland has 1.3 min overlap with Redding, CA (while AO-7
barely has half that overlap).
I known because i'll be in the Shetlands for almost a week in August...
It sure would be nice to have some kind of voice transponder in that type
of orbit... Aside from HEO, only RS-15 [if it worked] could beat that.

Hi All
using Spectogram I analysed the audio signal from Yubileiny as follows:-
main carrier 2400hz the bandwidth being 120hz wide so far as could tell.
I estimate that the central carrier was pulsing at 4 times/sec,
if these figures sound familiar to anybody please let me know!

Folks
A few weeks ago my attention was drawn to a compatibility problem with Nova
and the LVB Tracker 1. I believe that I have found the fault, but it is not
clear why it has taken so long for this problem to occur, especially as Nova
has been my tracking program of choce for many years! It may only affect
more recent versione of Nova.
I have adjusted the LVB Tecker's Baud Rate Generator slightly to be much
closer to 9600bps. I must have made an error in my calculations all those
years ago, so it was only operating at 9259bps. I have adjusted the BRG by
one to make 9616bps and things seem to be much better now. Technically, we
were only 3.5% out anyway which normally would be OK (ISTR that 5% timing
error is the limit).
Anyway, new 0.9 binaries and source here:
