Hi Art,
The DirectWav is an Internet link - data, not TV - but good point about LO
stability being an unknown.
But, my base question was whether any of the pieces can be used, and it sounds
like it's worth saving. Thanks!

I have three 18-inch Dish-Net dishes (same service as Direct-TV)
which are used with my 10-GHz feedhorn or with a 6-turn helix feed
for 2400-MHz. These dishes are used at 11-12 GHz. The DirectWav is
maybe the satellite internet connection?
The LNA probably is possibly usable on 10.451 GHz which is one of the
proposed P3E downlink frequencies.

Hello All,
Heard RS-30 transmit CW during the whole pass. Below is the telemetry
received. Sounded ok. I also wonder if there is more to this satellite than
the builders are letting on.

Hi David.
There certainly seems to be some form of picture data being transmitted. I
managed to get 41 seconds of it but may have missed a bit at the begining.
Still no idea how to decode it though.
Best guess seems to be Domenico I8CVS assumption that it's transmitting an
old format of 4 lines per second. So that's a minimum of 41 x 4 or 164
lines.
Perhaps if 50 seconds that would be a 200 line picture.
I just hope that the builders of the satellite haven't completely lost touch
with the Russian amateur community in the last few years. So far the only
parts of the transmission we can decode is the CW telemetry.
It would be a real shame if the propritory format of the data is just
intended for a small number of students within the company responsible for
building
RS30 and a lost opportunity if some sort of V/U comm's has not been
included on a satellite with such an excellent orbit.
Fingers crossed.

The Robot 36 looks like a candidate for the format.

Dave, Gould, Roger, Jo Ann, etc,
Thanks for the pointers. I have already have both sites, and experience has
shown that they are excellent for "trend" information. Just listening is
good enough for me, but new guys get hyper, and I get some calls that they
heard nothing, and is their station broken? ;)

Hi all,
another status update of the Delfi-C3 satellite:
1. First, something on a lighter note: we have posted two videos on our
photo weblog at
http://www.delfic3.nl/photoblog/
the first one of the final integration of Delfi-C3, and the second one was
made on launch day, April 28th, during the pass over our groundstation when
we first heard Delfi-C3 (after she had already been heard by Rick Mann in
the US) and in which we decoded the very first telemetry. As you can see,
things were both hectic & great fun that day!
2. Meanwhile, being almost one month in orbit, the satellite is doing fine,
all telemetry still shows nominal values. The satellite is commanded
regularly with good success down to low elevation (2 deg). We have not yet
applied a final cure for the downlink cut out problem as we are doing some
more testing when she is over our groundstation.
3. Rotation rate seems to have decreased significantly over the last weeks,
we are still analyzing telemetry to further quantify this observation.
73 on behalf of the Delfi-C3 team,
Wouter Jan Ubbels PE4WJ

Copied RS-30 cw transmission ok. I am trying to setup to decode fm tlm.
Tried to setup RS-30 in WISP. I could not copy/paste keps from .txt file.
How do I complete WISP setup? Is there another decode package beside WISP?
I thought I saw a reference to Throb 4.

I decoded 'aausat_26052008_2020utc.wav' (4.5MB) which was received
by DK3WN / Mike Rupprecht. I used the following technical skill,
then I got four telemetry data.
http://www.ne.jp/asahi/hamradio/je9pel/aausati2.htm#bottom
1. Install Microsoft .NET Framework 3.5
2. Install demodulator.exe
3. Install decoder_demo.exe
4. Record as WAV file from AAUSAT-II FFSK/MSK
5. Convert to WAV using by sox.exe
sox.exe aausat_29042008_0815.wav -t raw -c1 -r48000 -L -s -4 temp.wav
6. Convert to BIN using by demodulator.exe
Demodulator.exe temp.wav raw_beacon_data.bin
7. Convert to TXT using by decoder_demo.exe
decoder_demo.exe (Enter)
8. Then save automatically as beacon.txt

Hi all,
I believe RS-30 is NOT OBJECT C (NORAD 32955).
I compared both TLE OBJECT A (NORAD 32953) and OBJECT C with a small
software. This script calculate the doppler frequency (fn= 435.315MHz). In
even seconds the software is controlling my FT736R with TLE OBJ A and in odd
seconds with TLE OBJ C.
Now I analyze the audio signal with common spectrum analyzer software.
You can see the graph here: http://dk3wn.info/images/rs30_compare_a_c.jpg
Audio frequency with OBJ C is drifting away in direction TCA. OBJ A provide
a constant audio without deviations.

I'm just hoping that between 435.215 and 435.315 is the output of a Mode J
linear transponder - fingers crossed.
BTW I see brief details of the Amateur payload were posted on the web back in
January:

Subject: [amsat-bb] newbie question Icom 910H & LEO antennas
> Although licensed for 55 years + , I am just now an SWL on the birds. I
did Oscar 6 in ~ 1975. Having worked and confirmed all of the DXCC countries
and just recently retired, the birds have my interest. I have plenty of 1/2
inch and 7/8 inch hardline and connectors as well as a Kenpro G 500
elevation rotor. I have an Elecraft K2 with their transverter and a
Microwave Module with satellite capability for 435. Just need some antennas.
I am also thinking of getting a more modern rig and the Icom 910 caught my
eye. A friend of mine has a Yaseu 736 which he will sell me with 2 and 440
modules. No price discussed yet but I thought $700 would be my top. As an
alternative I thought about the Icom 910H. The only concern was a comment I
read on EHam that it was not user friendly on the FM birds being more
friendly to the JA birds. Is the 910 capable of doing AO 51 OK or is it a
pain ? Often information can be misleading. This is my first post here on
the BB. If there is any bird oper!
> ator close to Cincinnati, Ohio , I would love to visit your station. I do
have the old style Mirage bricks for 2 and 432 too. I thought of Egg beaters
from M Square but now leaning more toward the 10 foot long circular yagis
for 2 and 432.

Hi Jim, W9VNE
I also started with OSCAR-6 and since you have capability to use
transverters and Microwave Modules to transmit and receive in 2 meters and
70 cm you are exactly in my actual operating conditions.
I suggest you to start again the satellite activity with VO-52 and the old
OSCAR-7 using the familiar CW and SSB operating practice.
I suggest you to simply start with separate equipments one to transmit and
the other one to receive and manually compensate for doppler as you did with
OSCAR-6
You will be very happy to use your old 2 meters and 70 cm transverters
because using VO-52 and OSCAR-7 you will find a lot of friends in those
linear transponder allowing many QSO's at the same time similarly as you did
with OSCAR-6
You only need to put up again your KR-500 for the elevation and two
circularly polarized antennas one for 2 meters and the other one for 70 cm
possibly with relay to switch between RHCP to LHCP
About the antennas I suggest you the KLM 2M-22C or KLM 2M-14C for 2 meters
and KLM 435-40CX for 70 cm
As soon you will be ready to operate VO-52 and OSCAR-7 you will find again
the same excitements that you already experienced with OSCAR-6
Have fun and 73" de
