Luc, tnx fer ur research and publication...Many amateur satellite

a dead horse...
Absence of HEO, necessitates confirmation of those facts, NOW on 20

I ran one of the early 20 meter satellite nets, hopefully a P3E

Greetings,
I am wondering if anyone on the BB knows if there are any 9600-bps soundcard-
based AX.25 ASCII decoding programs out in the www? If so what is the web
address for it? I know 9600-bps is possible with modern soundcards as I have
a program from COAA that decodes it for non-HAM related data. I am using my
IC-910H data socket port output with it set to 9600 in the settings. I am
interested in using the 9600-bps program for capturing the 9600-bps telemetry
of AO-51, for example. I would then parse the text externally and and
combine with the engineering equations to get to the calibrated data. Thank
you very much.
KG4QWC, Jim.

The Namast project is not dead. If you had been subscribed to the
Namaste listserv, you would have seen messages to that affect. I think
it is important to remember that this is a volunteer effort. If I had
talents in the engineering area, I would be glad to volunteer but that
is not where my skills are. If you have skills in those areas,
volunteer and help out.

I am selling an exceptional, slightly used, fully equipped ICOM IC-910H with
the plastic protective sheet still on the display.
It comes with:
UX-910 1.2 GHz Module (1-10 watts). This is the 23cm unit.
Two (2x) UT-106 DSP Units providing noise reduction and auto notch for both
receivers.
CR-293 the high stability option virtually eliminates drift ( ?0.5 ppm at
0?C to +60?C).
USB CI-V CAT cable for full computer control of the radio, original mic and
manual.
This package is new well over $2500 from Universal Radio.
The first $1700 will take it. Shipping is extra and PayPal is preferred.
Contact me offline for questions.
Thanks, Stefan VE4NSA
PS. Yes, I will ship worldwide!

At Ham Radio 2008 the AMSAT-DL P3E update included the statement that "the
cost quoted by Arianespace for the launch of P3E is outside the budget of
AMSAT-DL." Are they talking about the same dead horse?

Its now many years ago...but I used MixW2 with AO-40tlm to read the
telemetry from AO-40. I have not tried using it for a long time. It
was used with the 9600-baud packet output of my FT-847. There used
to be Amsat webpages on setting it up for AO40-tlm. But MixW2 is
capable of lots of different digital modes. Best I can add to Drew's reply.

Luc,
I am glad you care enough about AMSAT's future to pay attention to events as
they unfold. It appears that you have misinterpreted recent events, however.
AMSAT's engineering department is undergoing a reorganization that we hope
will allow us to better focus on the results our members have been looking
for and improve cooperation among the development teams. There is nothing
sinister going on at all.
AMSAT members will be getting more detailed information through the Journal
and the engineering mailing lists in the coming days and weeks.

As usual AMSAT-NA is keeping the crowds unaware and uninformed on AMSAT-BB

The Tinytrak3 from byonics.com or the opentrak from Scott, or others. I
suppose I should have a better list ready to drop in, but I am at the beach...
But then remember, I also consider APRS as NOT a vehicle tracking system (just
TX devices) but more as a local information distribution system about all that
is going on in ham radio in the local area. In that sense, I prefer two-way
systems with displays for the mobile operator.

I hope not, because if it is "yes", then I'm throwing my money down

But I at least get answers from Peter .... AMSAT-DL, and whatever

This reminds me of a short story about a boy on a bicycle and a
chicken on the road.
In one part, the boy swerves to avoid the chicken, takes a hard fall
and dies. His mother cries - he didn't need to swerve, it was just a
chicken! Why did he kill himself saving a chicken!
In another part, the boy sees the danger, and goes ahead and runs over
the chicken to save himself. His mother scolds the boy, and thinks him
a monster, crying - why did he kill an defenseless chicken!

Rick,
I've been volunteering as an Area Coordinator since 1978 or so. Before that I
was a Project Oscar member from 1972.. I've never seen this organization and
the support of A/C's as dysfunctional as it is now! The AMSAT Website is a
disgrace and hasn't been updated in many months. The on line purchasing of
stuff doesn't work. I was one of the volunteers who worked on the 70 CM
Prototype Telemetry receiver. I was the guy that put the Excel spreadsheet
together to identify, order and track parts...
In any event, from my standpoint, the Area Coordinators haven't had any real
support for years. Information out of the organization is dismal! ... So
you've FIRED everyone on Eagle.... I should try to follow politics in this
organization more closely.... I don't do that.... I think, however that it's
time for a change in leadership. When I was one of the individuals working on
the 70 cm telemeter receivers, Jim Stafford was the Project Manager. Jim was
an excellent PM. What happened?????
I think sometimes you folks are so enduring to yourselves, you think you have
everything in control and don't realize the support and organization is
crumbling around you. And the worst of it all.... YOU let happen and didn't do
anything to change things.!!

Luc,
I am glad you care enough about AMSAT's future to pay attention to events as
they unfold.

As usual AMSAT-NA is keeping the crowds unaware and uninformed on AMSAT-BB
and on purpose...NAMASTE and EAGLE project are from my point of
view literally dead! For those who are still believing on a HEO made by
AMSAT-NA forget it they "HALTED" NAMASTE et fired out the EAGLE
team leaders
Here is some e-mails exchange...
It seems obvious now that AMSAT-NA projects are collapsing NAMASTE is dead
and EAGLE PROBABLY WILL BE HALTED TOO?????
SEE BELOW THE FULL EXCHANGE AND PLEASE READ THE THREADS ON:

Here is an excerpt moving around the "Super duper" AMSAT-NA president on the
NAMSATE reflector
