In trying to copy CP4, I noticed that there is a discrepancy in the Keps
being distributed. Jason's Keps give the object number as 31132. You get
this from Space-Track, and it seems to give a good agreement. However, the
Celestrak and those distributed by AMSAT give the object number as 31122.
Close, but off enough that it makes automatic tracking nearly impossible.
So when you do an automatic update of your Keps, be certain to go back in
and put in the correct object.

Alan,
I have just checked both Celestrak and Space-Track and they are both
showing Object 31132 as CP4. That's not to say the elements have not been
assigned correctly to their respective objects.
Recent work with Cute1.7 + APDII and IO-26 suggests you have to be careful
at times, as objects do get "swapped" from time to time.
There were a swag of Cubesats on that launch.

Hi Wouter , PA3WEG

To day 25 july during orbits 1305 and 1306 in full sun illumination
Delfi-C3 was OFF both in science mode and transponder mode.

When do you plan to switch ON the transponder ?

Colin,

Thanks for checking. The results from Celestrak are "variable." The latest
distribution from AMSAT of the NASA.ALL gives the following:

CP4
1 31122U 07012F 08206.15645384 .00000550 00000-0 13192-3 0 3949

So heads up, and track that sucker!

All

My husband (wb9adt) passed away suddenly in January of this year, he was a
huge ham radio collector and operator. I have found help in selling his
radios, but now I need help in selling his anntennas. I was hoping there was
someone in the Decatur, Indiana area that could maybe contact me off site at
patcher(AT)mchsi with maybe a little advice on how to sell them. I know
nothing about them other than the fact that they worked when he passed away.
Any help I could get would be greatly appreciated.

The TS2000 generates an internal signal (a "birdie") on the downlink of
SO-50 and AO-27. This signal overwhelms the satellite signal in most cases,
making it difficult if no impossible to use on those two very popular
satellites.

My 847 has a number of birdies in the satellite band. I use a magic
notch to silence them. It is
not the perfect solution but it works.

For roughly 24 hours from 0000UTC to 2400UTC Sunday the 27th, we are going
to switch AO-51's 435.150 transmitter from repeater to telemetry. This is in
order to gather important WOD (Whole Orbit Data) to manage the satellite,
and to honor a late request by AMSAT-UK to demonstrate the GENSO
(http://www.genso.org/) system at the AMSAT-UK meeting.

Hi All,

My Kenwood TS-790E has absolutely no "birdies" in 2 m ,70 cm and 23 cm
and this is why I like it very much.

Tanks very much the OM that sold it to me as used to buy a new TS-2000X
and his "birdies" !

Hi Robert,

thanks for great report, I am also very glad about that as the FO-29
was my favorite Satellite.

However, it's very interesting to notice that:

as I observed on my tracking software the FO-29 was in "eclipse"
from 09:11 - 09:46 Z (eclipse duration 35 mins, over Pacific).
Then, came on Sunlight over Antarctica and it was illuminated till your QSO
(AT) 10:36Z.

That means probably the battery -somehow- it can maintain now the
Satellite "ON" after long eclipse-periods

-OR-

the Satellite was activated - when came on Sunlight , without JARL's
ground station command !!!
As I remember, the automatic turn-ON of Satellite it was NOT possible till
now, for unknown reasons. It was necessary always a ground station
command in order to activate the Satellite.

Something has changed into FO-29 ?

I hope ! I have my fingers crossed !
