Sad to see the loss of those two Amateur Radio Cubesats,
PreSat
http://www.amsat.org.uk/iaru/formal_detail.asp?serial=120
and
NanoSail-D.
http://www.amsat.org.uk/iaru/finished_detail.asp?serial=115

I'm sure we'll see many more launch failures before Falcon eventually provides
a reliable service it's the nature of space flight.

Even 'reliable' launchers can still have a 1 in 10 failure rate.

I gave a 579 report to K9CIS's 200mW in a CW QSO.

Yes, the FO-29 transponder is working very well. I normally have to back off
the power to the FT-847's minimum setting above 20 degrees elevation.

I had a really nice pass earlier today (around 12:50 PDT, 05:50z). Called CQ
a bunch, but was never able to link up with anyone.

I noticed that my return signal changed volume sharply from time to time, and
found an FM conversation running in Spanish at the very bottom of the passband
(435.801 or so). No call signs that I heard, and the upper part of Mexico was
in the footprint, so perhaps our Taxi Cab problem was the cause. After they
were gone (out of the footprint) I had consistently strong reception, and was
able to hear myself down to about 4 degrees, before the bird faded out.

Great to have her back!

hi folks, are the data pinouts of different rigs the same or are most of
them different?
anyone know?

my ft 857 seems to have a diff. pinout then the ft 8100.

If i have them send me another tnc cable, Im not sure what cable i need. or
if it will work when i get it.

I have a tnc pk 96 for 9600 baud.

I have a ft 857 rig (hopefully will copy 9600 fsk)
if not I have a ft 8100 (but steps are 25 khz.)

tks in advance

p.s. I think this still concerns sats as I"m trying to copy them still, just
need alittle help. tks
