To all so far, Thanks. I think I'll take the question back and keep
studying the problem.

> http://5b4az.chronos.org.uk/pages/norad.html , which is a
> translation of Kelso's pascal code into ANSI C. [...]

Getting a little far away from the question. Re-interpreting source code
is one way to verify that the software design solution used by the author
of the code predicts the tracking. I can probably (and did already
actually) run this code and generate tracking data. The formulae in the
code are suspiciously close to the handbook, but there was a lot of
reorganization of the equations to the point I had to replace the
brain-fuse. Glad there are spares handy.

I'm sure Dr. Kelso, et al. code is just peachy.

It's not quite what I'm after. I need to use the formulae in the handbook
to arrive at the same answer.

If I stumble across an email reply that addresses the questions regarding
the formulae in the handbook, I'll summarize. I may trip over the answer
myself if I keep re-reading the handbook.

Thanks again,

-jeff

Get your hands on Vallado's Fundamentals of Astrodynamics and

Hello all,
?
?? I really HATE to do this but unless something drastic happens this week
(IE...hitting the lottery) I am going to sell out of ham radio and electronics
in general.
?
?? I have been collecting satellite gear for the past few years and have not
even used most of it. Alot of the items are brand new. ARR Preamps, M2 CP VHF
and UHF antenna's, (the BIG one's)?Rohn 45 tower parts, ect...
?
The radio's are..
?
Kenwood TS-790A with 1.2Ghz and IF-232 computer module
Yaesu FT-847
?
Both radio's are in excellent condition (8-9 out of a 10)
?
I also have 3 service monitors and assorted test gear that I will be selling.
2 ea IFR 1000S and 1ea. Cushman CE-50TG
?
I will be attending the Gray Tennessee hamfest, located in northeast Tennessee
on the 18th of October.
?
If your wanting to build up a topnotch satellite, or VHF/UHF station, Please
come by and visit my table.
?
I don't have a list compiled yet but it will be quite a lot.

Turnstile antennas are actually pretty easy to make. At its simplest,
it's four bits of wire about 1/4 wavelength long, with a 1/4 wavelength
phasing loop joining them. Note that the lengths of the elements and
the phasing loop are going to be actually 1/4 wavelength multiplied by
the velocity factor, which for the elements will be so near unity it's
not worth bothering with (make them a tiny bit shorter *if* you need
to), and for the phasing loop will be dependant on the cable used - 0.66
for RG58.

You haven't said which frequency range you want the antenna for, but on
UHF I've had excellent results with the K5OE antenna, and I've also had
a lot of success with the "cheap yagi" designs by WA5VJB. The latter I
found a bit "narrow" to tune, though.

Hi all,

as announced earlier, today we have successfully switched the Delfi-C3
/ DO-64 satellite into basic mode. Delfi-C3 is currently transmitting
1200bit/s BPSK housekeeping telemetry on the primary downlink
frequency of 145.870MHz (contrary to our earlier announcement which
said 145.930MHz which is the other downlink transmitter). In this
mode, AX.25 frames containing housekeeping telemetry are transmitted
approx once every 4-5 secs, the rest of the transmission is filled
with idle flags. We would like to encourage everyone to receive,
decode and forward telemetry using the RASCAL software just like
during the first three months of science mission, this will be greatly
appreciated by the team. RASCAL can be downloaded at:

http://www.delfic3.nl/rascal

At this moment, we do not know how long the satellite will be in this
mode, but it will at least be a couple of weeks. We'll keep you
informed on our mission operations page at

http://www.delfic3.nl/index.php?option=com_content&task=view&id=93&Itemid=122

and via the AMSAT-BB, and we will regularly post on and monitor the
OSCAR status page at

http://oscar.dcarr.org/

Dave? On AO-51? Isn't this one of the signs of the apocalypse?

Something a little more on-topic, I've been asked to help out a JOTA
station in NH with satellites on Saturday, but the AO-51 passes won't
coincide with their operating times. Since I'm FM only, is anyone on
list operating other JOTA stations be active on SO-50?
