Hi Paula and all,
The BBS and node here are one and the same JNOS system.
That's the system I now no longer run 24/7.
It's at about some 450kWh per year less, and at some 23c/kWh that is \over
an 100.- euro which I can us for something else.
As the system is idle most of the time, except for the forwarding and
me checking the BBS it's just not worth it to leave it running 24/7.
And for heating the room the Central eating does a better job anyway.
If I would have the BBS running in a Linux machine that would be used
for a lot of other work, it would be a god idea to at least leave the
BBS running, but it's a dedicated machine. ^good
I have had the idea to combine the BBS with the web and e-mail server,
but that has been on the to-do list for quite some time. It just stays
on the bottom of the pile.
The number of bulletins, and the quality, does indeed not really give
any reason to have the BBS and node running 24/7.

I am opposed to my bulletins being placed on systems where these bulletins
can be publicly accessed by anyone, including search engines and spambots,
from the Internet, without that the user first has to logon to have access
to the system!
Having Packet bulletins on display on so many systems, where the sysops
think these bulletins are so important for the people outside of Amateur
Radio that they need to have access to them, quite often indefinitely, is
just ridiculous Internet polution!
