Hi Warren Angela and all
Warren you are spot on about our electricity prices and the use of
raspberry pi computers.
I am in the process of setting up jnos on a pi as well as my irlp node,
aprs node and a bpq node.
There is also another complete xfbb iteration for the pi by Bernard f6bvp.
It is made much easier by the availability of a tnc specially designed to
plug straight onto the pi
The tnc is called the TNC-pi
As a non Linux person the learning curve has been very steep but I am
slowly getting on top of it all.
My main problem is actually finding enough (suitable) radios to run it
all.
With all this new stuff to play with you wouldn't be dead for quids
The only fly in the ointment here is the shear impossibility of getting an
amprnet allocation. I have had a request in for six months and am still
waiting (sigh...) The allocation is required for several of the functions
with jnos and the fpac areas of f6bvp software.
Regards and best wishes for the new year
