Thank you Paul. Now I have to investigate possibilities of LinFBB to use
the same \fwd\ 'include' files I started to test in WinFBB 7.01-35 when
under Windows (It is a dual-boot machine and until the other day I used
only WinFBB series 7.00 which required PortMapper or another external
software to handle DNS lookup.)
It was not a problem with WinFBB 7.00 series to share its config files
with LinFBB because they are positioned in the old-fashioned FBB tree
under Windows, so I was able to make necessary changes in fbb.conf, but
in 7.01-35 those files are partly in Windows registry and in \Program
Files\ location, which should be protected by the OS.
Until now, I managed to activate DNS lookup in WinFBB 7.01-35 and it
seems to follow exactly the same principle you described in your example:
> > A CX2SA
> > P C
> > C C CX2SA cx2sa.net 6300
> > V N6RME$Wxxxxxxxx$W
Now I am going to see if LinFBB can find and read the same config files
on Windows HD partition.

Are other people able to unzip the tgz files for August
builds of the ax25* stuff? I get a 'not in gzip format'
error. I can extract the slightly older source no problem.

Cathryn,
I unpacked some of Bernard's files just a day or two ago - tar xvf
<filename>
Are you aware that you may run into cpu loading issues with fbb and
Ubuntu 7.10 (and 8.04)? There have been numerous reports of around 90%
cpu useage by fbb with those releases.

Hello Ray and all,
I put a msg on here this morning asking about the
correct command for fbb.conf to enable remote access by radio to the
whole hard drive. It has not been sent yet.
Bit 256 of the security code has a different meaning in xfbb than winfbb
and dos fbb.
Anyone know the answer ?

ps I am going to the remote site in a couple of hours.
So you can see the need for quick answer if possible.

Does anyone know what the command in fbb.conf is to enable remote sysop
access to the whole hard drive ?
In the security codes for DOS and WinFBB bit 256 is for access to whole
disc but in LinFBB it says read all messages.
I have remote access to edit users, kill messages and such like but no
access to the fbb directories.

This is from the linFNN manual:
# 128: Run dos-programs (command DOS in FBBDOS).
# 256: Have access to the entire hard-disk.
# 512: Have access to command /A (stop BBS) and /R (reboot
# PC).
I think you confused tables. The previous table is for user privileges.
