Hi Tubby,
I'm also just getting into packet after a long break from ham radio. In VK2
there seems to still be a bit of activity around. The closest BBS to me
is VK2IO in Sydney. There is another BBS up on the central coast to the
north of Sydney, and I'm working with that group to establish an RF link
from my QTH to their BBS system, VK2DOT.

I've also set up my own small "BBS", to act as a personal mail drop.
I am running my packet setup on a Linux machine, with soundcard modems
connected to VHF and HF radios. On HF there is a group that regularly
exchange messages on 40m, who seem to be quite active. I have read
about the "105" net on 14.105MHz, but not sure if this is still
running or is reachable from VK.

Keep us posted on your activities in VK4.

73, Matt VK2RQ
