I've composed a concise table of ascii characters
using the original IBM PC character set and I hope 
that you find it useful.  The IBM PC character set is
also known as code page 437.

To change code page in a windows command terminal, use command 
chcp 437
In PuTTY, set configuration option 'window' , 'Translation', 
'Remote character set' to CP437.

To use the table, the row has the starting number in decimal
and the column has how much to add
For example, uppercase X is in row 70 and column +18
The ascii value for uppercase X is 70+18 or 88.

non-printing values are shown as ' '
' ' is space and value 32
value 127 is a control character
