No Peter, It was not me. I think it was Tony.

Now, the use of cameras at concerts in a room or hall, that is an entirely
different situation altogether. That is a matter of safety. In my state
the use of cameras in the local town theatre during a show is banned
altogether for several reasons:

1. Safety. The rule is that if a picture is to be taken the performers
must be warned and they must have been settled in their places on stage
for five minutes before the picture is taken. The reason is that if a
performer is not expecting a flash to go off he might trip and step off
the front of the stage and be injured.

2. Insurance. The Town's Insurance Policy stipulations on injury to third
parties will not permit photo-taking during a show for the same reason as
(1).

3. Copyright. Professional performers in a stage show depend on
appearances in public to earn a living and videoing the performance may
rob them of income.Professional performances are covered by copyright
laws.

How do I know this? I am President of the local Eisteddfod Committee which
runs a musical festival every year and we were made well aware of the
regulations. They have nothing to do with making life difficult for amateur
photographers.

Incidentally, our school buses do not have flashing lights of any kind,
red or any other colour. Red and Blue are reserved for emergency vehicles
or police. Other vehicles use amber.

Cheers,
Bob VK6BE.
