Forecast Discussion

High pressure remains in control through most of the day although skies will begin clouding up ahead of an approaching cold front. Today will likely be the warmest day the summit has seen during since the stretch of above average temperatures began a week ago. The record high sits at 50 degrees and was set last April. It looks like the record will likely be tied, if not broken. Instability ahead of the front will increase the chances of showers and thunderstorms late this afternoon and evening. The summit will become obscured by clouds especially with the passage of the front and winds will increase. Northwest winds will usher in cooler air behind the departing front for tomorrow and return temperatures to more seasonal but still slightly above average readings.
