Bob VK6BE asked....
}
} I can't find anything in the help notes regarding a limit to the length of
} a bulletin that can be received. I have had three come down incomplete,
} the shortest of which was about 22kB and the longest 39 kB. Does anyone
} hav definite knowledge as to whether there is a limit?
YES there is a limit, I remember Roger saying so.
I recall him increasing the buffer or making it user configurable.
But why constrain yourself to the internal buffer limits ?
Do a manual connection to the BBS,
Turn PAGING ON.
Manually read the L_O_N_G Bulletin.
Does Winpack have a capture function ?
If it does then instead of turning paging on and reading it in real time,
just engage the CAPTURE , issue a read command for the chosen bulletin,
end the capture and then browse through the long file at your leasure using
your favourite reader.
I would have thought that a computer expert like yourself would have
already known that ! ;-))
