It's been great seeing packet messages and I did try to reply but when I
tried to send my Christmas bulletin I got disconnected and the who message

was lost. Anyway I hope you all had a wonderful Christmas.
Christmas Eve we attended the candlelight service at our church and then
our family gathered around our Christmas tree to exchange a few gifts and
eat KrumKake - the only goodie I made for our family celebration. (My
aunt used to bake KrumKake on a cast-iron iron set over the woodfire in
the kitchen stove. Now I have a lovely new electric iron which worked
very well.
We had Christmas dinner with the family at the step granddaughter's
duplex. It was almost a white Christmas as it started to snow about noon
but was very wet and soon turned to rain. Snow is very unpredictable
here.
This morning some slush had turned to ice - but the sun is out and all is
melted.
I'll wish Shirl and Max, Peter and Maria, everyone a Wonderful New Year -

Jacqueline and Angela, Michael (thanks for the recipes) and everyone
else reading this a Wonderful New Year.

Thanks Sara,

KrumKake sounds interesting. Maybe like a pancake or waffle?
I would like to see a recipe for it sometime. My sisters made a "uncooked
cake" from crushed cookies, cocoa, raisins with a caramel topping.
Everything is mixed up in a bowl then pressed into a shallow pan.
It cuts into squares once it's been refrigerated.
Very different to North American Brownies though.

Christmas day was quite busy with Church service in the morning (after the
church Christmas play to watch the night before), visiting my mother's
house (everyone had presents exchanged), then a cooked BBQ dinner &
evening at my sister's house.
The children liked the "Melting Moment" biscuits (cookies) that I baked.
Some were plain & some were with cocoa powder to give a chocolate look &
taste.
My second sister is visiting from Chicago, USA with her two children these
holidays (staying with my sister locally).
The mornings are warm this summer & often there is a little rain in the
afternoon or evening. No sign of the drought that's being experienced in
Australia. So little water available that the vineyards and crops are
dying.

Happy New Year 2008.
