Happy New Year 2008 to everyone in the YL@WW network, as well
everyone who might be reading this....
My December 2007 Report to close out the New Year, started with
the construction and realization of the natural skating rink
in our yard. From 1980 to this year the yard was a RV parking
spot, and then RVs and a Sailboat, then a Powerboat, and then
this year after many years of something being parked there
a buyer came and picked up the RV...and the yard looked bare
so Maria encouraged me to put a skating rink in ... which by
this time of typing this report...well it has been used.
There are pictures of the skating rink on my MSN website,
as well some of the activities...hey hey hey
Around the start of the month of December 2007 ... I managed to
get Maria a plane ticket to Brasil ... I thought to be home
for Christmas and New years ... but she wanted to celebrate
with me, knowing if she had gone early, it would be moi and
the 3 pets celebrating at the same time as wrecking the house.
So in the middle of January 2008 .... she gets on the Jet
for BRASIL [<0>] and does not come home to CANADA until
April showers bring May flowers ....
Middle of December, brought a phone call from a friend of Maria's
in Brasil, that her daughter had been out in Vancouver BC
learning English at some school, and was visiting Toronto
and wondered if we'd be interestered in meeting her to know
her. Looked like an easy afternoon passtime .... But it
didn't workout that way ... she was staying at one of these
backpacking organization propertys...and by the time we got
there we missed the drunk in the hallway, and just the scarey
situation Nathalia had gone through in her room.
Maria ,I guessed sensed a real threat and told Nathalia to gather
her things, pack her bagage she was coming with us ... At
least thats what I got on my FRS radio from Maria, as I circled
the block, due the no parking signs on the street. And on my
last pass, there they were with enough luggage to test how
much the tuna-tin could hold..so I stopped 4 ways flashing
and loaded all into the Corolla.
Nathalia stayed with us a week, and in that time, we tried and
succeeded in killing the bad memorys of her only nights stay
in Toronto. We got her down to Niagara Falls, dinner at
Hard Rock Cafe .... etc.
She got a tour of Ontario, and lots of pictures to show
everyone., And we made sure by taking her to the airport that
she got safety on the plane and on the way home to Brasil
to be with family for a Feliz Natal and Feliz Ano Novo 2008.
Feliz Natal ...or Merry Christmas was very nice ... and we
had a wonderful midnight dinner as we both cooked, and made
things to enjoy. Of course...two cooks in the galley
is not a great mix ...hence the old sayings might hold true.
At the end of December 2007 ... and just as the new year was
to happen and the coutdown, I read a message from Shirl VK7HSC
and a reply from Sara AB7PS. On MSN I got a greeting from
Yvonne and that was I guess the end to the old year.
Thanks too..to Michael for his recipes ... mmm mmm good, but
then I have all these ...U know whats...on my back...so
while I can not enjoy them...or unless someone sends me a
"wee bit" .... well I hope everyone else enjoys the goodies
from Michael and others, and eat and drink within reason.
Yes ... I did read from Shirl VK7HSC that her husband Max is
in hospital, and it seemed to be serious. I can only but
echo the comments back to Shirl by Sara AB7PS that we too
Maria and I offer our prayers, since reading the packet for
Max and Shirl..then..now and in 2008.
In closing this report ... I am also hoping to "try" make it
to the echolink meetings of the YL@WW net ... that I have no
excuse for missing. I have the worse record in this regard.
I guess that is my 1st New Years Resolution for the new year.
Anyhow ... thats all I have..or can remember for December 2007
as it passes into history....
