Good Morning , or Afternoon, or even evening ...whenever you
get a chance to read this reply to the YL@WW network...
Happy Robert Burns Day ... and enjoy the Haggis ! <g>...
At least thats what I'm having today to celebrate being a Scot,
or <g> partly on my mother's side of the family. Couldn't
help but notice that there were in this area, Haggis Dinners
to celebrate Robbie Burns Day ...can you believe it Janaury 19th?
Yeah ... I got an invite up to the Legion for the grand way of
celebration .... pipes.... pipping in the haggis...and of
course suffering through someone who didn't have the broag
doing the address to the haggis ... but in all.... that was
for being with friends, and today the actual day, I celebrate
because that was the only day my mother would recognize.
Shirl VK7HSC ... got me going with her posting to all, so that
is the reason for me being in here to post a reply back...
And please note the route from Tasmania...went from Shirl's BBS
direct to a Canadian BBS in Quebec ... then 400km to here...like
that is a record. :)

>Hello everyone,
>Nice to be able to get a message posted - things have
>settled down in our house again and Max is active again
>in the yard and garden as he can.
Shirl ... That is really great news. Really! Makes for
a better feeling for all to read news like that.
>The old trick is that Max was in hospital from 27th December
>until 4th January making it an old trick for the new year.
>He had 24hrs in critical care unit and then decided he
>didn't want to leave, so now he is on the go again with
>different medication.
Yes .. what a way to celebrate New Years Eve ... no drinks
only meds , and in hospital.
Glad to hear also that he told them he didn't feel good, and
did stay. Could have been a problem arriving home, only to
be rushed in again, handing all in the family added stress,.
But then I would have been the later ... causing the added
stress, having flopped on the floor and driven myself down.
Max! Good to see you home. Have fun in the garden...
beware come the spring I will need your advice..ok ?
>FIRE - FLOOD - DROUGHT we have had the lot in Australia,

Isn't that the universal case. The news here is about
record snow where there shouldn't be ... and in some places
that get deep snow...they get new records. It seems to
be either Fire, Flood, Drought into the extremes, and yet
this doesn't seem to ring bells, as to why... mmmm
>SARA that Krumkake sounded very interesting. I have a
>Crepe Iron - an electrical thing heated then dipped in the

We have one of those Crepe Irons too Shirl. I think we got
a cheapo ... but then I am a scot <g>... and it had a piece
or a nik of the non-stick pop off, and the company didn't
stand behind it ... so now I only look for top quality stuff.
Other then that, we still use it, and we can really get some
really nice super thin ..mmmm...pancakes <g>...
>PETER you are on your own again. Hopefully not destroying
>things with neglect<G> I hope Maria enjoys her holiday
>and the sunshine.
Again, no one here to look after the pets. As you know when
I retired, the income dropped, and of course nearly half of
my pension is going to Brasil to support Maria's mother who
doesn't have a pension or support as all there are just
getting by...pays for the medical insurance and some expenses.
So not enough to pay a extra ticket for me, and 3 pets per week
is more then my ticket there... so Maria had to go, as mum
was ill, and in the 90s...so she would get a moral boost to
have her there...
Maria will I hope get some time in the sun ...but lately it has
been dealing with a horrible cold, and in bed...but great to
be home with mum, 30c and a hot sun overhead ... so I am
happy for her...but sad to not to have her here.
I will asess with her if she is having a great time ... but
I am sure once the cold is beaten, she be up and seeing friends
etc...
>You mentioned us on Bass Strait fishing - not anymore.
>We sold the boat about three years ago, it got too old for
>these two young people to handle - that's my story and I'm
>sticking to it.
Oops ...sorry Shirl. I had you teens out there... just
to enjoy the surroundings. Yep.. it is too bad when the
old boat gets to a state where all the work will not save
the old hull, and then it is best to sell it, to someone
with lots of cash to restore it.
I agree ... stick to your version. I feel the same. I
think there is a point, where you walkaway from a pastime
you enjoy ... And I think after selling my boats, well I
am finding I am not biting to get another one ... so
mmmm my excuse, and I was told by the specialists ...well
that boating thing for me is over.
Yes...I replaced it with the garden. Had to do something.
A non-green thummer in the garden ... and thanks to Richard
VE3CXP... I have a "ghost" zebra with me...from what I see
at my URL. <g>...
> It is a lot of work and the older one gets
>the more it is necessary to reduce the work load, so that
>part of our life is now in the memory bank, it gets drawn
>out from time to time and some of it relived.
As a child...I had lots of work ... and yes I have gone your
route too reducing workload and activities, and listening to
the Doctors < also doing things against their advice>...but
"sigh" I too have sent them to video and pictures, not
trusting the grey stuff between my ears <g>...
>I hope to read some reports from some of you so I have
>something to reply to.
Thats is a great idea. I get a lot of emails to ve3wbz at
the hotmail, from the yahoo yl net...but when I next went to
sign in ... my account there had expired. I had not used
it for so long they did whatever they did... but I still
get the net there emailing me.
More traffic for YL@WW there ... then here. Being there it
makes a larger space between me, and the Net, and thus I
feel I am drifting away, and not so innvolved anymore.
I even still have Yvonne on MSN...and say hello from time to
time, on special days etc...or just on impulse. Funny thing
is I can not remember too well her callsign, and well I for
one always enjoyed Yvonne's posting to Packetland on topics
as well her postings to YL@WW ... but I see Yvonne now
posting mostly inside this YL Net on Yahoo.
If that is the flow...from packet to Internet, then we might
just be the last few on here posting to YL@WW ... and if
so then... well ??? mmmmm I hate to ponder the future.
>Best wishes to all.
