Tinned Fish Recipe
Typed by ZL1ABS (from my mother's old, handwritten
recipe book)
Ingredients
2 fillets or one large can of fish cutlets (smoked flavour is good, also
sweet chilli is available for those who like a bit of spicy heat)
1 tablespoon plain flour
1 tablespoon regular milk
1 teaspoons salt
1 tablespoon butter
2 teaspoons green onion stock powder
1/2 cup spiral pasta
1/2 cup grated cheese (optional)
2 pieces toasted bread
Instructions
Bake frozen or fresh pieces of fish fillet in an oven for 20 minutes at
180 degrees Celsius (375 degrees Fahrenheit). Use a little olive oil or
canola oil on the fish so it doesn't stick to the oven dish. Tinned fish
comes precooked so does not need this oven baking.
Cook the spiral pasta in boiling water per packet instructions.
Make a white sauce in a saucepan thus: Melt butter then stir in milk,
flour, onion powder and salt. Add the fish to the white sauce, and then
add the cooked pasta (& optional grated cheese).
Simmer for a few minutes then serve on slices of toasted bread.
Serves two people (especially if steamed mixed vegetables are also
served).
