Hello and Greetings to Everyone in the YL@WW thread...
participants and readings...etc.,
Well what a month February 2008 has been here .... From
days with short sleeved shirts, and light coats we've
been on a roller coaster ride between a early spring
predicted by Jackson's point "JACK" and Wiarton Willie
on Ground Hog Day.
Nope ... no skating rink ...after the mid January thaws
talked about in my January 2008 postings, the same applied
for February, except when it dipped into Winter...WE got
blizzards, and windchills that put our temperatures passed
-30c ...which got some medical appointments cancelled as
there was no way I was going anywhere. It seems after
the snow plow goes by is the best time to shovel out...
better then working and then finding the 3-4ft snow pile
back in the driveway.
Funny thing ... a few days later .... 10c and the sun and
the stuff starts to melt .... < bummer >.
Had a scare also this month, and it told me, that if I was
ever alone in the home, even with access to my family doctor
if I died...they wouldn't know about my fate for a week or
more.
I woke up one day and had a pain ..almost bringing to mind the
day my mother got the first pain, that led to her ultimate
death. It was intense...maria told I had eaten some of my
own cooking < but then Rusty had a sample and it didn't kill
him...so..???? > and to take some ENO which I did...then also
I tired OVO for something else...and then feared if both
products acted at once with poor Pete in the middle <giggle>.
Thought ..heart attack...but none of what to expect... then
other things, and thought stress too...and the area of the
pain... called the doctor and left a message there
< long story ...when I got to see him...HE got a good piece
of my mind...on a few things...>
Right now it is over ... no reason why. The general idea
is that I got this due to shovelling snow. But then I
also nearly passed a stone...painful experience..and it
got jammed...and we figure it dissolved and came out as
dust...so no sample which would be valued for future drugs
etc.
My cure...was to be on my back...with a heating pad for
the whole day.
It made food for thought...as if I went to hospital for
a long stay...whatabout the pets in the home? Who would
look after them? Also ...well there is after if I had
maybe died....the confusion and the parasites who would
decent my my estate before my wife and excutor could act.
Don't think I mentioned it...but one morning, I woke up
to find a tooth, with a junk missing out of it. Now
after the pains..ands scares, I have a new batch of
appointments to fix the choppers.
Laugh of the day ... it takes a lot to get a Doctor's
appointment. Getting treatment here.... apointment time
just add 30minutes to 1 hour before you see your family
doctor... Meanwhile ... I took my dog..Rusty on time
to the vet ...cut my hand on the metal rims on the tires
putting air in ...and at the appointed time... 5minute
wait, then in...Not only Rusty got his medical needs
tended to..but also my hand...and we were both out
heading home in less then 30 minutes.
I feel like going to a vet for my medical needs now <g>...
Away from Packet, I have been in touch with a few from
here, and found out some are on the mend and that is so
wonderful...but also heard too and spoken via the keyboard
to hear a few are in horrible state with real medical
needs. We go as I did from a high of great news to
terrible news, and many thoughts for these people, who
while we have not met...we feel are our closest friends
and feel like family.
I am sorry I have not mentioned any names, but then it
has never as far as I have seen that this or that has been
posted here...so while we here struggle with our medical
problems, and Maria also in Brasil...struggling now with her
mother's ailing health..that we as before can only offer
our prayers for our familys and our friends.
Maria...since going to Brasil, mainly to help with her mother
and not as is a "joke" to escape the Canadian winter, has not
had weather that is normal either. It has been cold, rain
and floods....Not too many hot and sunny days...not good
for the family members there who are really sick.
I have also been getting requests for the updated Cookbook.
Well there is no excuse...it is all there...just awaiting just
how to put it into a program or something that will be easy
to use.
As for the echolink YL meeting. I have been checking out
my echolink and the audio..and it sounds for some reason
with echolink my audio board is horrible. The Echolink
test server also gives me just a horrible reply..so
perhaps it is for the best I miss out. BUT...I shall
keep trying to remember to join there sometime.

OK...thats all I have for this month..which has been
quiet. Thats OK with me .... Wish you all the best
and keep in touch...and please lets see a bit more activity
on packet...as I feel this YL@WW is on the wayout.
