Hello also to those who are reading along YL@WW...welcome
Most of the stuff posted on the YL_Net Group on Yahoo, from
me coming from my email address ve3wbz -at- hotmail ...I
can not post directly on Yahoo, as I am not there within
the number of days specified by Yahoo...before they
terminate or put into their "twlight zone" your name and
password. I have tried...it does recognize my name
and thats it ... and finally after too many emails to the
folks at Yahoo who, tell me I can sign in ...I finally got
someone who looked and told me, the reason.
BUT ....
I still am subscribed to the postings on the Net at Yahoo
and can reply to them, but ...mmmm...it just doesn't seem
like the same, and apart from hackers, scammers and pop
up windows for this and that ... I'd rather be thru in
the radio room with the packet computer to do it this
way...and only this way...for should the time come
that I have to hang it all up....thats that.
I have Internet and my ham radio separated. I prefer
packet via the 2m vhf radio. If I can not get to the
BBS, then ok..I look for digipeaters, and at the same time
I leave mine on for others who can not reach the BBS.
I think a few on packet RF are in the same boat...
I am also not closed mind enough to enough senior's homes
around me, that if there was "ONE" ham confined, that I
would not start a telephone dialup system here to allow
them access to my TNC and radio to keep packeting along
with us. same applys to others who might not have
a TNC in the area ... but they opted for Internet.
There is a part too ..of the riddle. I posted in packet
and in a comment to Yahoo's NET ..about reaching enough of
the YL group passed, present and welcoming new members...to
what has been for me and my family a very good blessing.
Unfortunately..it has been some time since I last heard
from oldsters of the NET...and a drop in traffic that
I thought I would ask....

I like all that access stuff Angela. And as for the
disclaimer...well you are being ignored, but then that
is RF being replaced by Internet Packet BBSes...all gets
posted for the world to see and read....until BBS maintainance
time and then it is deleted leaving the access as a error
in someone's browser....
Thank you for posting on Packet... yes riddle solved.
I hope via all methods those in places where they can not
get to an RF BBS...or have no radio and in a place where
antennas are forbidden can rejoin the group, such as a
message I once received from Maggie < forget her call>.
