Hello Indy ...
Welcome to the YL@WW Network :)
I've been here , since it was under another @WW and coming
mostly out of Florida ... and then switching to other @WWs
before becoming YL@WW ..and thats where my mother, started
by asking me to ask about a recipe for Mango...which I
believe was Mango Chutney and the swift answer from Alf
VK4OL < now deceased> which started off quite a packet
exchange between my mother and Alf and his wife Pauline
spreadig over to exchanges of emails , and letters and
something to look forward to .... the start of the real
friendships etc that those participating in YL@WW have
for each other..to this day.
When I met my future wife Maria, she also started letter
writting to Alf and Pauline, and also enjoyed a strong
relationship that has resulted in many recipes I post
coming from my wife's creations.
I noted you commeting on Shirl's posting, and it reminds
me of long ago, members of our net were asked to post
a little something about themselves to net...and ...well
what Shirl posted is like many here...and I agree with
them, as I find their postings interesting, and human
and kind,polite etc....I can not say enough about the
net ...
Every month, each of us trys to report to the rest of
us what has happened in their month, at their location
and the idea is always just to post what you think
the others might like. Items such as recipes, requests
for recipes...ideas..suggestions and even what the
weather is..and the garden activitys...are here...pretty
well of just average stuff...but we have all found it
something to look forward to ... Indy....they even
got me started on my "Garden" which has been a disaster
after my mother passed away in 2005...and so I have
been the target of interesting pics back....which I
also shar with all via my URL....
I can also say, Indy...that at the time my mother passed
away...it was this net YL@WW and the people on here
that opened their hearts, took the time to email me
and my family and offer us and also help us through
a most difficult time .... NO where else on Packet
will you ever find that Indy...NO WHERE! On here
with the people who do this YL@WW net and have kept
it going over the years.
Anyhow ... if there is a "hobby" fellowship...you
will find it here...as it is open to both sexes women
and men...and there is a lot of husband and wife teams
here posting and running things...as well participating
in other YL Net elsewhere in the hobby 20meters etc...
I can not say enough ...If think I have only scratched
the tip of the iceberg with what this thread means
to me, and those I truely call my friends.
I hope you will enjoy it as much as I and keep a special
eye open when you see a SB with YL@WW on your local
BBS.
