Hi Clive,

The answer is no. I'm in Auckland and the old baking powder building was
in Christchurch. There was loud public disapproval some years ago when it
was demolished, along with the famous gardens beside, to make way for a
petrol station. It was pictured on the front of the cook book for years.
The famous slogan, "Sure to Rise" was on a big sign board at the top of
the building.
These days I use cheap generic brand baking powder & flour. It seems to
work pretty much as well as the colourfully packaged, "branded" product.

Probably these products are no longer made in New Zealand, but shipped in
from Australia or elsewhere. What we would do if the ships stopped coming
for a month, I don't know. There would be plenty of vegetables, meat &
dairy in the shops, since it's grown locally, but just about everything
else isn't anymore.

away eggs. I wonder if Michael lives or works in one of the many buildings
owned by the baking powder maker? :*)
