Hi Tea lover's of this Packet world,
Andy never thought his question would gain any momentum but off it goes, with
stronger Brews as we go along.
GM7HUD say's Tea must be made with only leaves and not Tea Bags.
I agree leaves put in the pot and left to" Brew" ( In Sheffield they say
"Mash") is by far the best way. But how many people these days have the time
or patience to do it the Hard Way and you need a strainer.
I was in Taiwan on business many years ago and we were served tea at a Factory
that we were visiting. It was 38 deg C that day and we were given a tall glass
of Scalding hot Green Tea made from a "shovel full" of leaves. There were so
many that the first 20mm at the top of the glass was taken up with floating
Debris. We had to appear as if we were enjoying it and to drink it Daintily
and with respect, without getting a mouth full of horrible Tea Leaves. That
was not to be we chocked on it and, we spat leaves out for the rest of the day
(Revolting).
I don't know if you can buy Tea Strainers anymore.
VE3WBZ says they grew up, boiling the milk with which to make the Tea.
Strange, I love doing that for Coffee making, but never heard of it for Tea
making. It improves my coffee so I must try it with Tea. If it hasn't killed
you then I shall be ok (Unless it's an April Foul thing)
G4UEQ says he has heard of Trevor's (M0TWS - Tea without Sugar) Tea but never
drank his Tea. Well you won't, as Tev drinks so much that there is never any
left for visitors Hi.
